Recruitment Policy
The company’s recruitment and selection procedure will provide a fair, systematic and reliable basis for selecting the most suitable candidate for any given vacancy.

The company wishes to give all its employees the maximum opportunity to develop their careers and achieve their work potential. In filling any vacancy, the company will encourage applications from suitable qualified internal candidates.

All potential employees will be required to complete a selection procedure which will assess candidates against a range of specified criteria.

The company expects the highest standard of performance from all of its employees. During the selection process every effort will be made to ensure that potential employees (including those moving to new jobs within the company) fully understand the requirements of their employment.

Environmental Policy
It is the Arnold Clark Group’s intention to be fully involved in the best environmental practices and have good environmental management. This is the central focus of the group’s business, not only through advice given by clients, but also through its own activities. The Company Secretary is charged with the overall responsibilities for internal affairs relating to environmental policy.

All Arnold Clark Group staff are responsible for implementing the Group’s Environmental Policy, and designated managers are responsible for target setting and implementation of efficiency in the branches, ensuring an optimum use of energy and the avoidance of waste for energy conservation.

Through the Group, a co-ordinated purchasing policy shall take effect, which addresses the use of environmentally sensitive materials and incorporates the environmental issues of subcontractors and suppliers in its quality assurance system. Waste minimisation at source makes both economic sense and reduces the need for disposal, together with conserving resources, and with a review of internal waste collection and disposal practices within the requirements set but in the duty of care.

Travel is an integral part of our business with significant environmental implications. Through the forms of transport within our vehicle policy, we will endeavour to reduce fuel consumption and improve safety. Our car policy is subject to regular review and regular maintenance of all vehicles will continue to be undertaken to ensure optimum fuel efficiency and maximum vehicle hire.

Arnold Clark Vehicle Management is registered with the government sponsored Action Energy scheme, to promote the most efficient use of energy within the company. We have an appointed Energy Coordinator, who has specific responsibility to reduce energy waste within the company.
